2023-2024 Annual Awards Banquet and Fundraiser

WAMMA NextGen is hosting its second annual awards night to celebrate our amazing 2023-2024 season. We have much to be proud of and it will be our honor to highlight the hard work and ongoing effort of our athletes.

As this is also a fundraiser, we will be holding a 50/50 draw and silent auction.The silent auction and draws are important events that help make the evening entertaining, memorable, and successful.

Proceeds would be put towards sponsorship of families in need, making traveling out of province more affordable, new mats and for purchasing training equipment.

TICKETS

  • Adult tickets: $35.00 (includes a Black Angus steak, cut in-house and cooked to your preference, served with your choice of mashed potatoes, baked potato or fries, along with beer, wine or high ball)
  • Child tickets: $20.00 (chicken fingers and fries)
  • Support tickets: $10.00 (for those unable to attend but would like to support the club)

The venue has a limited capacity so please get your tickets before they sell out!

SILENT AUCTION PRIZE DONATIONS

Members (athletes) and parents of WAMMA NextGen are encouraged to provide a donation to put toward the prizes for the silent auction. Your contribution will gladly be accepted and appreciated.

Local businesses may also be solicited for donations. Please use the official donation letter below to give to businesses if needed. For pick up of items or if you have any questions, please contact our Fundraising Parent Coordinators:

AWARDS

We will be presenting the following awards to Senior and/or Junior athletes:

A) Competition Stats Awards

  • Examples:
    • Most number of matches
    • The Clothesline Award – Fastest Pin
    • The Flash Award – Fastest Submission
    • The Steamroller Award – Most Pins
    • The Manslayer Award – Most Submissions

B) Dedication Awards

  • Many of our athletes are extremely dedicated and to highlight this commitment we will be presenting awards to athletes who have spent the most time on the mats.

C) Most Outstanding All Around Athlete

  • An athlete who has demonstrated outstanding athletic skills in both practice and competition.

D) Most Improved Athlete (Boxing and Grappling)

  • An athlete who has made the greatest improvement since he/she started at WAMMA NextGen.

E) Most Valuable Teammate Award (MVT)

  • An athlete who brings out the best in others, is respectful, reliable and supportive of others, is a positive influence on the team and exemplifies leadership and sportsmanship. Makes new teammates feel welcome and is eager to share his/her knowledge.

F) The Grind Award

  • An athlete who is the hardest worker in the gym, is the first to find a partner, begins practicing right away without wasting time, and puts in the extra work to improve their game, even when no one is watching.

G) Rookie of the Year

  • A new member who has shown outstanding progress, dedication, and a positive attitude. They quickly improve their skills, actively participate in training, and embody the club’s values of discipline and respect. Despite being new, they make a strong impact on the club through their commitment and contributions.
