Introduction to Boxing Sessions

Overview

Learn the fundamentals of boxing, improve self-confidence and strength in a safe and encouraging environment. Our Intro to boxing classes teach basic boxing skills and techniques, athletes work on fitness and conditioning and will be introduced to proper body mechanics to punch correctly, as well as cardio calisthenics, shadow boxing and bag work.

This program is for athletes who have no or minimal boxing experience.

What to Bring

  • Boxing Shoes, Runners (indoor, flat, non-marking sole, with not a lot of grip) Or Bare Feet
  • Athletic Wear
  • Water Bottle
  • Hand Wraps & skipping rope
  • *Boxing GlovesĀ  – highly recommended to have your own (*we have some gloves for sale at the gym)

Intermediate Boxing Classes

Overview

Learn the basic foot work and movements of boxing. Get comfortable moving like a boxer. Full body workout integrated with boxing skills. Intermediate level class. Great for those who want to progress their boxing skills.

These classes are for athletes who have completed the Intro to Boxing session or has previous boxing experience.

Classes are ongoing throughout the year. See our Schedule on the website. Athletes pay a monthly fee.

Equipment Required

The following can be purchased at the gym.

  • Hand Wraps
  • Boxing Gloves
  • Skipping Rope

Elite Competitive Team

Overview

Chance to compete

Exclusive training for our competitive athletes. This program focuses on preparing youth athletes for competition by teaching boxing fundamentals and applying these fundamentals in the ring. It should be noted, however, that while this program has a competitive focus, no athlete is required to compete.

Must be registered with Boxing Manitoba including a medical to compete and spar.

Sparring

Training may involve sparring and technical sparring. Only for Elite Competitive Athletes. Must be approved to participate by our coaches.

Classes are ongoing throughout the year. See our Schedule on the website. Athletes pay a monthly fee. Additional costs if athletes compete.

  • Sparring Gloves (min 16 oz)
  • Skipping Rope
  • Mouth Guard
