Welcome!

Welcome to WAMMA, Winnipeg’s premier Mixed Martial Arts school. WAMMA is known nationally and internationally for producing top level competitive athletes. However, students do join WAMMA for all kinds of reasons; to get in shape, lose weight, gain confidence and make friends.

As a new student, here are your options depending on your age group.

  • Ages 7 to 9 (little champs) : Option to train 1 to 4 times per week with a mixture of Boxing, Wrestling, Jiu-jitsu and kickboxing
  • Ages 10 to 19 : Introduction to Grappling, Introduction to Boxing… or Both

Introduction to Grappling (Jiu-Jitsu & Wrestling)

Your child will learn the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and basic body mechanics applicable to self-defense. They will learn how to control an opponent on the ground and how to escape compromising positions. There are many similarities between the sport of Jiu-Jitsu and the sport of wrestling and we recommend not specializing until later depending on your goals.
