2024 WAMMA NextGen Wrestling Open

 

Date: Sunday, January 14, 2024

Location: Dakota Community Center, 1188 Dakota Street, Winnipeg, MB

Time:

  • Tykes, Novice, Kids and Bantam – 9:00am (Weigh-ins 8:00 am.  No weight allowance, no cutting, brackets will be merged so it is possible that your wrestler wrestle up a weight class if they are alone in the bracket)
  • Highschool and U23 – Weigh-ins open at 10 am.  0.5 kg allowance. Athletes will be given one hour to make weight if they miss weight or they will wrestle up a weight class.
  • Tournament will begin immediately following the completion of the Elementary tournament  at approx. 11:00 am

 

DEADLINE: All registrations ON TRACKWRESTLING and payments on our Payment form must be submitted by Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 by 8:00PM

 

FEES:

$40 per athlete for Tyke, Novice & Kids
$50 per athlete for Bantam, Highschool, & U23

($75 if entered in 2 divisions. Double bracketing is permitted) 

 

Entrance fee for spectators: $5 each, cash only. (Competitors, children 5 and under, and 1 coach per team are free)

 

*All Age Divisions are based on age during the 2024 Competitive season 

 

ELEMENTARY

Divisions

  • TYKES (Born 2016-2017)
  • NOVICE (Born 2014-2015)
  • KIDS (Born 2012-2013)
  • BANTAM (Born 2010-2011)

 

NOTE: The Drawmaster will combine male and female divisions for Kids, Novice & Tyke Divisions to ensure matches for all youth entrants.

 

HIGHSCHOOL (Born 2006-2009)

WEIGHT CLASSES:

Men (kg): 38, 41, 44, 48, 51, 55, 60, 65, 69, 74, 79, 86, 97, 125, 125.6+ (+0.5 Kg weight allowance)

Women (kg): 38, 40, 43, 46, 49, 53, 57, 61, 65, 68, 72, 76, 82 (+0.5 Kg weight allowance)

 

U23 (Born 2005-2002)

WEIGHT CLASSES:

MENS – 57, 61, 65, 70, 74, 79, 86, 92, 97, 125 (+0.5 Kg)

WOMENS – 50, 53, 55, 57, 59, 62, 65, 68, 72, 76 (+0.5 Kg)

 

The Drawmaster will make every effort to group athletes in their respective divisions and to maximize matches in divisions; the Drawmaster will connect with any coaches about moving divisions; and will let coaches know about any athletes that do not have matches.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

Only coaches, managers, and wrestlers will be allowed on the competition floor.

 

REGISTRATION

STEP 1:  Click here to Register on Trackwrestling

  • Set up an account (We do not recommend registering as a guest)
  • On the left side bar click on ‘Registration’
  • Click on ‘New Registration’
  • ‘Add Wrestler’
  • Click on ‘New Wrestler’ unless your wrestler is already one of your members.
  • Add Entry by filling in Name, Birthdate, Team, etc
  • Enter ‘Grade’ (all payments will be done through a different link)
  • Select the tournament, division, Weight class (for certain divisions) and seperation criteria.
    • Check the information you entered in the next window. It will say you owe $40 or $50 or the amount you owe.
  • Continue to the next step. ‘Billing Contact’. Complete this whole page for your registration to be submitted.
    • Zip Code – use any 5-digit number
    • No payment will be taken at this point. It will say Pay with Cash/Check but you will use the link in Step 2 below to make your payment.
    • You must hit ‘Continue’ at the bottom for your registration to be submitted.
  • This page should indicate that ‘Your registration process has been completed’ and you should receive an email confirmation.
  • GO TO STEP 2 Please pay for your wrestler’s tournament fee using the link in Step 2. Wrestlers my make their own payment individually or Clubs may choose to pay for all their wrestlers together.

STEP 2: Pay for Your registration

  •  Wrestlers may pay for their registration individually or clubs may pay for their athletes together.
